SOLVED - Looking for GIVI Wingrack mounting kit Y154 for RC36/II

    Hey there,

I'm desperately looking for a mounting kit for the RC36/II. That's the bike-specific part of the Wingrack setup. It's been discontinued long ago, as you might know. The part no. is Y154.
If anyone has one in the garage, or knows someone who has heard of someone whos mate has a brother whos girlfriend has one for sale - PLEASE let me know!

So far I've found two on ebay - one in the UK and one in the US. Both are not willing to ship to mainland Europe. :frown:

    Thanks for your help!

they are difficult to find. I have one, but I will tell you that I think they could have done a better job with fitment I think. Anyway, I'll keep an eye out but I will warn you you are second on my list of people I know looking for them.

    Hi Reg,

    thanks for your offer anyway!
I know that they're hard to find...

I haven't heard mmany negative notes on the Wingrack or its fitting system so far. Anyway, it seems like the only suitable solution for me. I definitely want hard cases, no softbags. The Wingrack is the only luggage system that can be removed very quickly so that it doesn't look too ugly. The other systems are difficult to fix and, well, look awful when the cases are off.
I need the cases for my daily commute to work and for trips, but I'd like to have the possibility to remove the stuff for ride-outs.
Unfortunately, they are very rare - plus shipment from the states will cost a fortune as the thing is heavy...

    We'll see, I'll keep looking.

Thanks again and all the best.

    Hi ABP!
I just bought a set of panniers with the fitting kit for a vfr750f 90-93 (that is the rc36 right?). I live in Sweden and could easily ship within the EC.

I personally need a fitting kit for 98-01 (y161) *blink blink*

Drop me a PM and we can see i we can stramhet something!

Hmm, perhaps I didn't do my home work properly, the RC36/II is from -94 and forth and you are not helped by my post above. Right?

    Hi Joyride!
Aye, you're right - I've got a '96. So the kit you have won't fit unfortunately.
Anyway thanks a lot for the offer!!
(I'm also not in the EC/EU but in Switzerland, so shipping is a bit more complicated. Not too much, though.)

I actually found another solution in the meantime, maybe I should change the title of the thread accordingly... I've bought a Five Stars side rack for the older model, had a mounting kit custom made by a friend and cut & welded the side rack so that it fit. ;)
Quite some work but it's good now and it was pretty cheap.

Cheers to Sweden and good luck with your search!!!
