Hi G-Man. I have a 06' and I have experienced a "clinking" noise also. At first I thought it might be my key fob blowing around. But its not. It sounds like its coming from inside my front fairing. Down inside. And it does sound like some type of linkage clinking. Any ideas?? I haven't had any problems stopping. But now I am a little concerned.

i know this post is a little late so i hope you see it. first, gently grab the rotors with your thumb and index finger, and try to rattle the disc in a for and aft motion, NOT side to side. if you feel freeplay or hear a rattle, it means your buttons or carier is worn. side to side is normal that is the float of floating rotors. a little for and aft is perfictly fine, but as it becomes excessive, start looking to replace the rotors.

i have ridden 30k mi. with audible rotors(I DO NOT RECOMEND!!!!!) so if you need to run them for 5-10k you should be fine. use your best judgement. the noise will continualy get louder until it becomes so anoying that your best riding buddies wont ride with you. that should be a sign its time to replace them.

why the rotors loosen more for some riders than others under the same riding conditions? i dont know.

Um - Replace sooner rather than later - its your hide. The buttons/carriers are designed to be tight.

i heard about this "sounds problem" e few times. it appears due to the shape of the fairing and the air ducts. don't worry!
