Those temps are acceptable.. It's still hot in Texas. Now you know your cooling system is AOK.

Realizing that we all ride as well or much better than everyone on the planet living or dead, watch that "rock" with those radial tires. Too hard on the front binder and down you go..

Your "fix" on the rear cowling will not hold. By now you will have figured out whether or not you have some of that Chinese made aftermarket fairing. Both OEM and the other are ABS plastic. Tons of info on fixing that in the archives. Best stuff I have found is a two component compound in a double syringe from NAPA. Ask the parts guys about it. Using the glass cloth is fine. Best type is the triaxial weave. The epoxy or polyester in any form will not form a bond. The trick is that the paint must be removed adjacent to the area to be repaired. The compound when activated is symbiotic with the ABS and not the paint..

Got a name for this dealer/stealer? Sounds like a great place to not be for much.

Like the guys are saying.. show pix and help is here..

I have been down this ABS road before. My goal, this week, Is to fix the crack to keep it from getting worse. I had no real hope that the glue would hold but I plan on putting about 500 miles on her this weekend and I didn't want the plastic to crack all the way off. We have a really good paint and body man that does the shop work and I am going to get him to look it over once the rains come (It's Texas. We have the rainy and dry seasons.)

It's not the dealers fault. I when back and looked at my pictures and there is no crack. It literately happened an the way to the house. I am just really disappointed that I couldn't keep my new toy nice for more than 20 minutes. Did I mention that I live on a dirt road? I am afraid the whole bike took a real pounding at a few points where the road had turned to washboard.

I am pretty practiced at not touching the front brake. I learned my lesson after busting my ass in the front yard. I grabbed a handful of brake on damp grass and it spit me off so fast I didn't know it was happening. Rear brake all the way on gravel and grass.

I think I know the dealer you work for. I just has to be Moe of Moe's Motorcycles. Moe is the natural father of Honey Boo Boo.

I did find a replacement on eBay but it has cracks too. I guess it's a design characteristic.

    No, I don't think it's Moe's Motorcycles. LOL

I went out this morning and buttoned it all up. The glass fiber patch had set up and I know the crack won't get any bigger. It looks OK it's just cracked. I plan to ride the piss out of this bike so what's one crack in what will eventually be a huge assortment of rock chips, embedded dirt, faded paint and worse. They are designed to be used and when they are used they get scars.
