As everyone will say Contact: Jamie Daugherty.

I just recieved mine from him, & other then wanting to bump up the preload on the spring ( Personal preferance), I am very happy with the shock.
Jamie had one built to my wieght /riding preferances & to my door in a month.
Not bad concidering I submitted my order in the middle of riding season, & the Indy MotoGP was in the very near future, & to top it off I needed to have Jamie come up with a doner shock!

well thanks for the offer but after talking to jamie about these shocks its a crapshoot...this second shock i got comming from egay if it doesnt work im getting a cbr modified shock from jamie...310 bucks..seems the old vfr shocks work or dont and if they get turned upside down or layed flat the crap in the bottom gets in the valving and it either wont compress or wont rebound from crap in the valving...sheesh i thought i was doing something wrong on installation .only way to test it is to install it and try it...junk shocks ,im getting pretty good at this shock install thing..1984vf750f 14k mi and the shock is trashed ..,thanks gregg in ohio

Good idea. Just a note - if you buy a F4i shock (with remote reservoir) the resevoir tube fitting will interfere with the coolant overflow tank. Take a look at the pics on my photo page. You will have to deform the plastic tank with a heat gun or relocate the tube. I think Mr. Daugherty sells the necessary goodies to relocate the tube and will recharge the shock afterwards.

It was nice talking to you yesterday Gregg!

As you have found, the OEM shocks on those bikes are living on borrowed time (that is putting it nicely). Starting with something else and having it converted to fit your bike is about the only good option that I know of. It's an unfortunate situation but luckily there is an option to keep this great bikes going!
