I very frequently surf the web checking out bikes for sale. I've noticed this '91 Viffer that I think is way overpriced. It's been posted for quite some time now(At least 4months),so I'm assuming the price is not very negotiable. I know the VFR is a niche motorcycle(To know it is to love it) so I brought the question to the home of the VFR lover. Would any of you pay this price?? I hate to see a fellow VFR owner making a fool of themselves.

Seems overpriced to me, but I might just be a tightass. I've seen 5th gens and the occasional 6th gen go for that. Granted they might not have been pristine, but still.:hss:

Way over priced. No mention of the mileage. I'd be curious to know what production # it is. For that money I'd want the stock exhaust also. The trend with these bikes in general has them being marked way above NADA for some reason. They may become "collectable", but that does not mean a high price now.

BTW, at AMA vintage bike days I was looking at red 3rd gen like that in nice shape and a guy walked over and said "For 3K it's yours." I laughed.

It comes with 2 extra spark plugs. That is hard to beat. And, some folks might be willing to pay that for the 8 spoker.

It's a limited market that they are selling to. Having said that, the people making up that limited market are a bunch of fanatics. I assume that the sellers are hoping for that one buyer that has deep pockets and just enough obsession to buy the bike. Having said that, last year, I easily sold my completely restored 93 ZX7 and my 94 ZX7 both for $4000, both to the first caller with no haggling, clearing about a $1000 on each bike. I listed them at that price expecting to come down but that never happened and I never expected to sell them for that price.

If there's a market, I guess its worth the fishing trip.

The ONLY 4th Gen I found for sale in SA, the guy wants 50k for. Currency conversions don't tell the full story, but to put it into perspective I paid 17k for mine. Makes me even more upset that I crashed it!

O.k. so I see it's not just me. I suppose they're just waiting waiting for the right flavor lollipop. With enough patience they'll probably find it. I would assume it's not even being ridden( mint condition and all). What a shame!!

I agree that it is overpriced, a really nice 5th Gen with hard bags etc was up for $2500 awhile ago in NC.

    $2500 maximum

There is a nice low mileage 2002 listed there for just shy of $3500.

I used to work for a Toyota dealer when I was younger and one of the salesman had an interesting saying that he lived and sold cars by "Doesn't matter how high the price is, There IS an ass for every seat."
