VF1000R heat shield

On my 85 1000R the rubber heat shield under the airbox and in front of the carbies is falling to bits. Has anyone come up with an alternative?

 

i just used a ole tractor tire inner tube

 

Thanks for the reply. I think that is a good option but I was looking for something which could be molded into shape and hold that shape to come as close to original as possible.
