Looks like I'm late for this party!

'86 VF500. Unmodified aside from the paint and a discrete, ghetto solution to the slack on my rear brake pedal. Sadly, the front wheel fairing currently has a large chunk of paint torn out of it due to the bike falling over in the trailer on the way to the mechanic's.

Well... and the '86 VF500F does have some improvements (eg. align-bored cam journals) that put it a cut above the true '1st gen' VF's.

VFR Back from Urban 7 months later.jpg

    Hi
At time of prang there was not much damage to bike, I had a broken coller bone and some road rash. The tow truck driver said he would deliver bike to my house but did not. The next day I get a call from them demanding R12000.00 (bout$1200.00) for the releaes of bike the fight went on for 7 months in the mean time while it was in there yard someone smashed the clutch slave and engine sprocket off with a hammer and chisel. Never mind stealing the battery, the rubbers from the rear wheel cuch drive and plastic covers and the fuses and one head light.
Anyway it slowly comming back together. I have sprayed it red not sure if I like it though. Will send pic when weather better here in Cape Town.

    Cheers mate,
    Wayne

experience... just out of interest - have tou experienced the bike with both the 700 and 750 motors?

    ...was there much difference?

I have the 700 and am keeping an eye out for a 750 motor as a poss upgrade (correct me if I'm wrong but should just bolt in?)

So... add me too... 86 RWB VFR700F (see avatar)

I haven't ridden both, I was told by the PO that it was swapped and as we all know you can't trust what they say. I haven't looked to see if it has been swapped or not, I don't really care to until I need some kind of part that won't interchange. So I can't tell you much of anything of use.
