Hi, new machine to me just put on about 400 miles so far, but compared to the other single disc rear brake bikes I have had, this red beast requires a bunch of foot pressure without much feel.
The only other linked system I have had was a Moto Guzzi, which really su^&;*d. Anybody know the % front to rear with the foot pedal and the % front to rear with the hand lever?
No complaints with the feel and stopping power of the hand lever. All brake fluids look almost clear, no leaks.
    thanks

The rear brake activates the middle piston on the front calipers.
If it feels bad you may need a flush and bleed.

thx Durk for the reply, going to try to hold off till the off season, which is looming here in NH. Try to change the brake fluids every year.
So if the rear activates the middle, the front lever only drives two small pistons on the same side. OK.
    thx

When I was using OEM pads on my '99 I never felt much braking from the rear brake pedal. It never bothered me since I never use the rear brake by itself. Since I changed lines, and changed pads to HH pads I can feel the rear brake if I use just the rear. But again I never use it by itself except for slow speed maneuvers.

I do have to be a bit more judicious in applying the brakes since they can seem "sudden" compared to the OEM and OEM lines.

I recently did a flush and bleed on all my lines and the rear brake still feels dead. When I flushed out the rear it was pretty nasty along with the bleeder under the seat. Although it did help some it is nothing like a non-linked brake system. I may try cleaning the master cylinders this winter and see if that will help with the feel. But I may just be the feel of a linked brake system.

    I want to say it's 80/20 and 20/80

There is however like 20ft or something of rubber line which isn't helping matters. Local guy made up braided rear lines for me for around $160 I think. Then I bought the remaining braided out of the same color batch and have them sitting on the shelf. This winter he will take my old mounting blocks and Ts off my front lines and build the remaining lines for another $100. All told I'll have all braided for about $300.

    Thanks guys, great board.
I'm not going to fret about something being screwed up with the foot brake feel now. It is so brick like, I was guessing a messed up proportioning valve.

Mine is the dame way...doesn't bother me though. I don't want the rear brake too grabby anyway! I always use both so not a problem for me. :)
