... In my motorcycle club. We had an event this past weekend for my club. It's a photo shoot event. A lot of fun. Lots of comments from other riders about how much they "love that bike" but never owned one, and always wanted one. The bike battery died, we roll started it and I left it running for the full day. So about 6-7 hours of being on, in 88* temps, the bike never got hotter than 230*, averaged 191* while moving, and 214* while sitting. I'm very impressed with the bike. Here are a few photos from the event:

Need to pick up a new battery but all in all it was a great day of riding!

    Nice pictures, thanks for sharing.

I think you mean the bike never got hotter than 191°F and averaged 130°F while moving? 214°F sounds right when idling.

FYI, I just installed a Shorai Lithium Battery, no more worries about the battery going dead on a ride. You might also want to check your R/R and wiring harness and also make sure your charging system is working properly.

Thanks! I miskeyed that. Never got hotter than 230*. My bad lol. Will be checking the charging system on Weds or Thurs when I ride into work. I was looking at Lithiums, but price seems a bit steep ($200+ for what I was looking at). Not horrible, just not for me as of yet (I have 4 vehicles and that drains money ... quick!). I just picked up a Cycletron II Interstate batt. for $60 (brand new) which retails for $110. Having a dealer account with them is nice!

I think the prior battery was bad, though. It was a Yuasa which I "charged" with a higher than normal Ah when I purchased it back in spring. I think it just started off badly from there. The battery went dead a few times from lack of use (3-4 week stints of not riding due to the horrendous heat (90-105* daily, humidity making it feel like 100-115*). At one point, it was so dead that my CTEK trickle charger would not charge it. So, I hooked it up to my Jeep with jumper cables for a while, which pushed enough charge back into it for the CTEK to recognize it as a battery and charge it. I think I fried it :)

Pretty typical for San Antonio in the summertime. I don't own a car so I just enjoy the breeze through my mesh jacket.

    Thanks for the cool pics!

    No problem!

I can only imagine. Normal temps here in summer are 80-95* with high humidity. Typically 60-90%+. It's no fun. I got the mesh for my g/f 'cause there were no decent leather ones that she liked. We are getting her some chaps soon though. I do/did? have a mesh jacket. I think it's floating around somewhere, unless I gave it away/sold it. Not really a fan of mesh but I probably should invest in one if I can't find the one I "might" .. have lol.
