More or a lurker than a poster but though it's about time I posted the latest incarnation of my 04 VFR.
Little bit of back ground, I owned this bike from release 04 & made many modifications till I sold it 09 in mostly stock form because I decided to purchase a CBR1000RR for one last sportsbike.
2011 my left knee decided I should act my age not my shoe size & the CBR became a problem for extended trips away as most of my riding is full day or touring.
I just happened to find my original 04 on Ebay & the price was to good to refuse & all the test rides on like minded bikes didn't thrill me so I ended up owning my VFR again & sold off the CBR.

I do enjoy the SPORTS element in sports tourer so proceeded to modify my VFR to suit my needs:
Front end is CBR1000RR Ohlins, RC51 front wheel, Brembo master cylinder. The list of after market parts is endless but the total cost was less than buying a new VFR in 2011.

The black line on frame under tank near seat is the cap on plug used to plug in EXO2 heated vest.

Cockpit :) Zumo 660 which connects via bluetooth to my helmet mounted Sena SMH10 which supplies directions, music & phone. Control clutch perch heated grips & the LHS fairing is for EXO2 heated vest. LSH instruments digital gear indicator & RHS is voltmeter. Aux power to Zumo, heated grips & heated vest is relay switched when ignition on.

Wow! That's a lot of goodies. Is that a gear indicator under the speedo?

Nice. Bugger me, you've spent some money though. I don't mind the Bagstar tank cover, their pretty practical & apart from being good knee grip, they protect the paint. Had one on my CBR from nearly new (2 weeks old) & 13 years later the paint was mint.

If you add up all the after market parts it is allot of money but the bonus was I was able to buy the bike cheap & already had the Ohlins forks from my CBR1000RR so in the end if I bought a brand new 2012 VFR800 (black & white simply love that combo) that would have cost me more than I have spent even if I include cost of forks. I have to say I prefer this bike hands down to a new one so money well spent.

WOW! That's pretty nice! You definitely got yourself a great deal!

You know, I hear that Ohlin fronts don't really like to get along with Penske rears. To help you out, I would be willing to make the sacrifice and do an even swap with my stock front end for your Ohlin front end. Oh, send the front wheel while you're at it!

    enjoy the ride!
