From my phone- isolated a no start situation to no fuel from tank. Mechanic said he tool the petcock off and cleaned and blue air through the line but still nothing but sloshing off gas and said you could hot tank it but it would ruin the paint. It was running great after previous owner had it sitting for a decade but I started messing around with on and off and reserve and then no fuel. I have gunk carb cleaner in the line. Has anyone had a similar problem with a fix / or suggestions would be appreciated.

Just to add that when I use the little red extender with the gunk and spray it into the fuel line that I can hear the spray hitting inside the tank but nothing comes out and maybe that is do to pressure fromm the can.

We have no clue what year and model you are talking about since you didn't put it in your profile for some dumb reason...but it sounds like the petcock needs to be cleaned/repaired--you either broke it internally or dislodged some debris while messing with it, sometimes old stuff don't work so good after sitting.

An 83 vf750f. I took the petcock apart and it seems okay. With the petcock off I shot some. Wd40 through. The line and noticed. The spray go past the metal. Plate with holes. I have some paint thinner type liquid in it. Does the gas need to be at a certain height for it to make it to the. I have about 1/4 of a gallon of liquid in the tank and tipping it towards the petcock but still no fuel. I put in some bike brake cable. It goes fotward

I put the cable in but hits something. I think it's a screen.

After soaking all night in the thinner type liquid I filled it this morning with water and sprayed theimside with s nozzel. It is pouring out on reserve and in the on position. It drips real fast. It won't stop in the closedposition. Will this flood it or will it just feed the carbs as needed.

Rebuild the petcock with new parts cuz you don't want any fuel flowing to carbs when the engine isn't running.

Opening the filler cap and blasting high-pressure compressed air into the fuel output line is something you should try.

If things are clear and flowing right, fuel pours out in impressive quantity, not drips, but you should test with a tank at least 1/2 full.
