Left the house today & planned to ride for an hour or so, & ended up riding to Cincinati!
Took hwy 62 to hwy 56 thru Madison Ind, then took hwy 42 to Interstate 71 / 75, & on to Cincinati. Visited with my Daughter & grand-babies for a bit, & headed back Via hwy 50 to hwy 56, & then 156 back to 56 and so on back home to Clarksville. 270+ miles & 6 hours of butt tyme.
She got 38.5 MPG & pretty much maintained 4500 to 6000 RPMs thru most of the trip, water temps were good all day.
There was only one bad stretch of road in Ohio & Switzerland counties ( hwy 156 ) If you moved out of the Dark strips of road you find yourself on loose gravel :jawdrop: My Back-side did OK for the first 2 hours & then started hurting, & on the trip back I made it about 1-1/2 hours, Had to stop & stretch, refuel & rehydrate, Then continued on. so I think I did well!

Here is my Oldest Grand-baby on my Bike!
Should have heard her when she Looked out the window when I pulled up, & she realized it was her Grampa on His Bike!

Kudos Paul! I have to say that is one clean machine. It looks almost brand new. The grand daughter looks happy to see you, or maybe she's happy she's on your bike...

    Cheers

Nice! I rode 250mi a couple weeks ago via the Skyline drive, rte211 & rte33. Felt good, looking forward to the Indianappolis trip for the Moto GP races this year! That will be my first big trip on the VFR1200F.
I plan to surprize family in Central Pa soon. that is about similar time-wise to your ride. You inspired me

A good Customer of ours, is a sportscaster for a local TV station, & He was nice enough to give me a Ticket to the NASCAR Truck race last nite at the Kentucky speed way. So I took my bike up there 180 miles roundtrip. Pretty much same route, Got back home at 12:30 am.

Finally had tyme to get my Ole-Girl's Slave Cylinder rebuilt, & re-installed this week.
The weather is beautiful, so I decided to go for a ride this morning, & ended up running I-65 up to Columbus, IN. 75 miles of Interstate HWY. one way.
I have come to the conclusion that Running 75-85 MPH for almost an hour SUCKS!
The wind at that sustianed speed, pushes my Helmet into my face, & wants to remove the helmet from my fat head!
On my way up I passed a group of female riders, riding bikes from Cruisers, to a Stretched Busa.
On my way back I ran the Interstate back to Scottsburg, Then took Hwy 31 back home, which ened up being more pleasurable at 55-65, then the higher speeds!

Has to be, Because I have only been able to put just under 2000 miles on mine since I got her. But the year has many more good riding days left! :party2:

I would happily go if I could, But allass not this year!

I have already promised myself & a couple friends, that I am going to ride down to the dragon next year, & I want to ride up to Wisconsin to visit family in Milwaukee, & Sheboygan. Plus a 2000 mile trip with my current seat would be a "real" pain in my butt!

I went to the dragon this year and it was bad ass. Give me some dates for next year and count me in. I own my shop where I work so time off is no big deal.
