vfr 700 exhaust

    really would like to gut the stock exhaust on my 86 vfr 700 but not finding any useful information, all im finding is information on 6th gen can guts.. and help would be greatly appreciated..

    There is a real possibility that your bike won't run its best and need some carb tuning after an operation like that.

    On my 87 700 I just took my handy ole dremel with a reinforced cutting disc and cut out the small outlet at the rear, slid out the small baffled tube and it sounds very good for a free easy mod. Didn't notice any performance difference at all but sounds much better. I did cut apart one of the pipes and I'll be the first to tell you going any further than just removing the outlet tube isn't worth the hassle and having to tune the bike afterwards

    You may need to use small pliers to crush the steel surrounding the outlet tube to be able to slide it out, I had to do that with mine but it shouldn't take much to do. I can't post pics on here with my phone but if you'd like I can text you a picture of the pipe so you can see what I did
