I have been taking pictures( and drinking and Drewling) all weekend. I saw a bunch of VFRs but only got to talk to one owner. They had never heard of VFRW, but hopefully they will show up soon and show us their treasure.
I got to Indy late afternoon on Friday so I was not able to get into the track to roam before all the action started. But I talked to my buddy Matt from another forum and he was right around the corner from me. I invited him out for beers and we closed the place down on Friday. Matt said he had some passes for me and my friends. All we had to do was show up at WillCall in the morning and pick them up. V4Bear and I and his buddy Brian already had tickets for the weekend, so I thought,"meh, we'll see."
I went to a spinning bed and fell asleep before the pukies set in. Bear and Brian showed up early am and we headed over to the track.

Indy Speedway is so full of history(even if it is 4 wheel history) it is easy to feel you are standing on holy ground.
We went right up to our seats to watch the Moto3 practice. Very cool sitting up above the track.
So after that we decided to to head out to see the shops. Along the way we stopped by the ticket counter and see what Matt left for us.
After picking them up we were directed to a specific door at the back of the ticket booth. Outside a lady in yellow met us with a golf cart and instructed us to get in and come with her. Next thing we know we are being dropped off at the stairs to to the Suites above Pit Row.

Here is Danny Pedrosa coming right out of his garage for qualifying.

After a very cool day of practices and qualifying and shopping and seeing the historical Indy Motor Speedway, we headed back to our hotel room in downtown Indy. On the way up to our room, we noticed there was a friggin TRAIN in the hotel.

A quick walk around the corner, and we are in the center of Indy. Bike night her is literally MILES of bikes.

lined both sides of the street and double down the middle. At the center of town is a huge veterans memorial. Parked at the center was a nice little first gen. At closer look, it was a Mini-ceptor 500.

An older gentleman noticed us looking at the bike and came over and asked how we liked it. He said it was his wife's. She found it in a shop. it had been sitting there for 20 some years with 2600 miles on it. Original everything. Nary a scratch. Pis-friggin-stine.

Sunday morning, free breakfast buffet in the suite.

Nicky was out with a badly rung bell. Stoner was banged up, but still in uniform for the race.


The race was nothing to write home about, due to a 20 second lead between second and third. It was decided by the third lap.
After the race, we ran into my buddy Matt as he was headed down to the pits. Next thing we know, we are IN the GARAGE of a Moto 2 team.

 

No doubt about it, Drewl is the man. I set him up for the sweet weekend, with seats in the Ape box, and what does he do? Trumps me with a upgrade....man its good to have friends. And you cant do better than Drewl.

Super weekend with a great group of people.

Damn, I wish I would have seen this thread. I was there all weekend.... mind you, not in the schwanky f'ing seats you got to sit in!!! Lucky ass!!! Me and my buddy said one day we would get to sit there...

I happened to be right place, right time on a bunch of things. I did get to say hi to Pedrosa as he was walking through the interior parking lot. I happened to be right next to the fence when Rossi came out of his camper. Met Josh Herrin. Of course a lot of the XR1200 guys. Brian Van from SBTG.

 

Did I mention Josh Herrin was in the box with us?




Not that I recognized him or spoke to him. He was prolly sitting with us at the table...

Dont give the Drewler too much hell Scuba. Rest assured in between all the fun the topic came up, as much as anything else to let the folks at GoPro know our appreciation.

At this particular time, the way it was presented to us, Gopro isnt doing group buys.

Draw your own conclusions on that.

IMHO this may be because they have had real success placing their product with X-games type athletes and dont need to, or because they are now at the point where they are going worldwide and the logistics of doing such a thing are something they dont see as necessary. I dont know for sure, but I do know at this point they are not doing group buys.

Perhaps its like Shimano fishing gear, I never see that on sale either.

Probably because its really good shit.

Or maybe we got told some really good insider dope that we arent ready to disclose.
