wassup viffer family?! I have a few nooby questions here i been wondering about lol. I heard there is a different way to lube diff chains, how do i do this on a x link chain? And also what type of lube is required. thanks in advance
It is tricky, but you must stand on your head as you are bumping "Ice Ice Baby" very loud in the background. The rhythmic beat of Ice Ice Baby combines with the natural propensity of the lube to flow around tight crevices for maximum lubrication. Standing on your head....well, I just wanted to see if you could do it.
I have never heard of there being a different ways to lube different types of chains, but a quick search on chain maintenance showed that regardless of what type of chain you have, lubing it still required for longer life. I found these two links on maintenance and none of them say there is a different way to lube an x-ring chain. Of course there are different types of chain lubes, so you just need to make sure the lube is safe for o-ring/x-ring chains. There's also a thread on best chain lube you might find some good info there too. http://vfrworld.com/forums/5th-generation-1998-2001/3780-best-chain-lube.html How to maintain and change your motorcycle's chain and sprokets - BikeBandit.com D.I.D Racing Chains & DirtStar® Rims (page 4 is on lubrication) Cheers.
If it goes in the dirt, I use chainblue....if it stays on the pavement (mostly) I use chain wax. Lube it a least every 400 to 500 miles, and do it right after a decent ride (so the chain is warm/hot) and the lube will flow and penetrate much more thoroughly...wipe off the excess, clean it once in awhile, and it should last you a long while (if it is well cared for).
1. Clean the chain well I use Maxim....... 2. Place the bike on center stand 3. Spray evenly on the outside and inside of the chain while rotating the wheel Some peeps prefer with the motor on and in first gear....Just watch your finger. I use Honda oem dry lube so it not getting all over the wheel. Wipe all the excess before take offHope this help
