    Hi VFR World,

Long time listener, first time caller. I joined in 06 when i had a 4th gen - made the mistake of selling it for a cruiser  - and now i'm back (for GOOD!).

In my quest for a perfect 07 RWB, i'm finding plenty with very low mileage (500-3000) as well as some with what i would call more average mileage (6000-8000). Based on age and fluids just sitting, would an 8K mile model actually be better than a cherry one with 500 miles?

    Thanks guys. Great forum!

Just depends on the condition, and the owner. If he took good care, it doesn't matter much. Just buy the one you feel was cared for the best, looks the best, and the owner seems to really care for it.

I agree, I was going to go into detail on this but this says it all. For reference, I bought my 09 a little over a year ago and it only had 347 miles on it, not even to the "break in" mileage, but the guy took real good care of it, plus he had a some extras on it, so it was too good to pass up!

I dont see where you can go wrong with any of your options.

    I agree with Toe,

I would suggets that you find the one with the most options as you will get these at 50 cents on the dollar buying used and you know that you will want them. For me a seat, a power commander and a pipe are at the top of the options list with heliBars and saddle bags following a close second.

The other point worth mentioning is, if you are a high mileage rider and intend to ride it a lot, you will very quickly put another 10k on the bike so perhaps the mileage isn't as big an issue?

Don't look at the mileages but rather the condition of the bike and all the add on......Go for the one that catch your eyes and your heart.

Thanks a ton. Good catch on the accessories. I don't see many with bags, but i'll keep an eye out.

I'd really like an ABS model, but those are also harder to find. I need to just be patient and wait for the perfect one. I would even go a different color for the right bike.

Try searching on Search Tempest country wide. I'm sure you will find one to your liking and then you can fly out and ride it home so you get the bonus tour thrown in!

There are a couple of low mileage (less than 10k miles) 07 RWB's listed on Craigs list, one is in GA, and another in SC. I'm sure if you keep looking you should find one near to you for under $6k with under 10k miles. I was patient, and found what I was looking for - mine had under 1500 miles, and I paid under 6 for it. I ride mine almost every day. After owning mine since December, I have figured out that any gen 6 newer than a well maintained '07 with less than 20k is still a nearly new bike  Good luck in rejoining the fold, and joining the 07 RWB's on the road.

I'm definitely a fan of the fly and drive. Did that on my '11 accord to get the silver/5 speed combo i wanted. Thanks also for the search tempest tip!

I've found a 8000 mile RWB really close to me. Talked the dealer down to $6k on the phone. Was dropped in garage and has some very minor scratches. Found a 250 mile RWB 3 hours away for $6990, but haven't talked to them yet. If i can talk them down to $6500 and it looks good - i'll go get it.

Anyone get tired of the RWB color? I like it, but not sure if i'd love it for years like a solid color bike.

Doesn't look like an ABS model is in the cards. They seem like too rare a bird, unless i wanted to be REALLY patient.

Whatever I decide on, i'll probably do a car fax, or moto equivalent.

I'd always go for the cleanest, lowest mile bike you can find or stand to wait for. The one you found close to you, with 8,000 miles and had been dropped in the garage, to me is not worth $6k since I have seen others in that price range in mint condition.

I would stick with a priv ate party deal. Always seem to get more for the money and you can talk with the actual owner of the bike. I would buy from a dealer only if the bike I'm searching for is rare and I can't find any good ones elsewhere. I doubt you can still find anymore leftovers cheap. But it wasn't to long ago you could still get a leftover rwb for around 7k

I got my '07 earlier this year with 1,400 miles on it. It was pretty cherry. There were a few minor issues which needed to be addressed. But, considering the overall condition and mileage, I feel like I got a sweet deal. If it's been sitting around, expect to change fluids, and possibly a battery. They really don't like to sit.

Any idea how many 07 RWB models were made, or how many with ABS were made? I heard/read only 1000 total, with most of those 1000 being non-ABS. Which I think was a $1k option when new? Or was it the hard OEM bags that were $1k? Not sure.

Anyone know what the MSRP was when Honda HQ released the new/old stock in...08 was it and flooded the mkt with them? I remember reading about it, but never saw one (or any VFRs, for that matter) in any dealers around me.

Each were a $1000 option. I found mine with both, and nary a scratch this year. Paid $6500. I could be patient as I had 2 other V4s in the garage..

Same here. I've got other stuff to ride, so I'll wait it out till something comes up in my range I can't turn down.
