So I picked up a peg lowering kit Foot Peg Lowering Kit. Wild Hair Accessories. Motorcycle Accessories & Aftermarket European Parts., and installation was a breeze; BUT (you knew that was coming, right?) I've not been able to get the shifter adjusted so it works smoothly. I've moved the pegs, moved the shifter, no joy. So I've concluded that - at least for now - the lower pegs are a no-go, and I need to find a different shift arm that will work. The net of this is the peg lowering kit moves your foot outward about a half inch, and between that and the sidestand you can't adjust the shifter enough to work properly.

Anyone have any ideas? Any shifters that would be worth trying, perhaps one with a bit more outward offset? Maybe a tiny bit longer?

EDIT: It looks (in pictures) like subsequent years have a shifter that has a shape that will work better; but I have no reference information. Can someone provide me with some measurements on '91-'97 shift levers? The numbers I would be interested in are the center-to-center (shift shaft to the rubber) and offset from the 'back' of the shift shaft block to the tip of the rubber.

    Thanks!

I would also like to lower the pegs on my 1st gen, but the shifter assembly, and the kickstand both look like they'll be problems... did you get any further in your search?
