Beware of the electrical gremlins that most VFR's have been plagued with. Take a voltmeter with you to test the charging voltage before making a deal. Also pull the plastics off the bike and inspect the molex connectors to both the stator and the R/R itself. Regulator/Rectifier replacement and/or wiring harness replacement is often needed on older VFR's to correct these well known charging issues. In some rare cases you may even need to replace your stator which could have gotten fried as a result of a faulty regulator . Both my 3rd Gens have had charging issues and I've helped several others with similar issues in the past. The fix is easy and not very expensive. Just letting you know before you find out the hard way when you are a long way from home.

Picked up the bike today, before I read the responce about the regulator. I was aware about the issue but did'nt think to check it, I will look into before I put on the road. Condition is great no signs of being dropped, some normal wear and tear for a 18yr old. 29600 on the clock, runs really smooth. I will post some picks soon.
