Have you considered Laser Xtreme Deep Tones, i have them on mine, sorry no picture but they sounds awesome. Everyone comments on the sound they make. I am removing mine and sending them and pipes out for ceramic coating. Turning my '02 into all black stealth model.

Pipe question! Can, or has anyone put a low boy or side exhaust on a 6th Gen.? Or (unlike my Triumph 675) is the heat not so bad for the stock set up?

Even never seen any photo of such kind of modification. But I don't think we can't modify like that.
Let's see they mod the B-king, the bike with default two sides exhausts.

The would be quite numbers of modification, especially on cutting, re-routing the pipe, and making the muffler support (hanger).

That mod to VFR would have some disadvantages (in my opinion):
    - The back fairing is designed to hold two sides muffler. It would looks not really nice and seems missing something due to mufflers removal. You may need to modify the fairing as well.
    - The beauty of the VFR is Single Swing-arm (ProArm). If putting the low side muffler, you need to consider the not too big muffler, to keep the rear wheel rim to be visible as much as possible.
    - Don't know about the performance of the bike after modification...

Last but not least, pls share your project photos as long as you proceed to do so. It would be very good experience.

Luv the sound of my SuperTrapp shorty on my '07 (presently directly attached to the Cat). A friend riding behind once commented that she sounds like a GP bike :^). The looks are not for everyone (maybe anyone but me), but I shaved 13lbs off the bike overall ...

I bought two Yoshimura exhaust from Yamaha R1 and planned to modify to fit with my VFR:

However, then I have got quite reasonable deal of a Leo VInce set (made for VFR 6th Gen). I decided to sell the Yoshi.

    Well, things got started....

Here 's how I took the OEM cans off the bike:

And the CF cans are ready beside:

    Get the pipe on:

    Then the cans:

And the final product with to day shooting:

I have just changed the exhaust, yet to change the aftermarket air filter or add the PC. Bike runs great, sound is awesome!

Wow, a year lag-time and you put it up with pics! That's what we call follow-through! Nice lookin' bike my friend. I'm sure, as you say, that the road quality in much of Vietnam isn't so great, but I bet it's one hell of a blast carving up roads through lush rice-paddies and rain forests when the roads allow. Given your excellent English and familiarity with riding larger bikes in Vietnam, you might consider starting a business doing tours of the country for foreigners? I could never afford it, but if I could I surely would!

    j:son,

It is impossible. They're gone, at least for the VFR.

I started contacting VFR sellers on craigslist, all over the U.S. ..Let a set of Staintunes get away that sold for $500. Got lucky on some SS Leo Vince slip-ons. This spring I must have hit a really big bump because the tire made contact with my Right can and moved it out of alignment with the other one. Anyone else have problems like that? I have yet to set sag on it but I'm only 155lbs!
Not to jack the thread but what works well for a license plate bracket? I didn't get a rear fender assembly for my bike unfortunately. The plate was mounted directly between the stock cans and made contact with the tire.

Hi there, while talking about exhausts for the 6th Gen I would like to find out will a 04" model exhaust fit on the 08" model, I think so as nothing much changed on the bike structure from the 07" to the 08" model as far as I understand it was the V-tech and front indicator lights? Thinking of getting a second original exhaust system and see if I can get a better or louder sound out by removing some of the baffle rather than messing up the one that is on the bike.

I also contacted them and they said they were discontinued. I feel like they may have misjudged the demand for their product, and I almost wonder how many people would have to show interest for them to manufacture some more? I'd encourage everyone to email them and ask about it.
