Well, I did it - sold the 07 VFR Anniversary and replaced it with a 09 Goldwing ABS. Still have a 86 VFR 700 in the garage being put back together so I am not without a spirited bike. Hope that I still get to stay around here - Over at the "other" VFR BBS I somehow mysteriously became unable to post once I posted up about buying the Winger! Sheesh! Xenophobia I guess. Oh well - I will be on and off the board as I am doing a total re-do of the 86 VFR. Ride On!

Honestly, I can't wait to own a Goldwing! Soon as this last kid finishes up college, I'm in the market.

They really shut you down over at the other site?

A GoldWing is my next bike. I figure that it is 5 years out. In the interim, my VFR is setup for touring which it does quite nicely.

This is true. But there's actually a method to my madness. My wife absolutely hates motorcycles. Wants nothing to do with them. Until I got her to sit on a 'Wing. She really likes it and feels secure (for what that's worth) back there.

So I think it would be kind of nice to take some cross country rides in the future with the wife, and the Goldwing is the bike to do it on. All I need to do is make sure that she re-reads 50 Shades of Grey before we hit the road. :)

People that bash on the Hondabago are retarded. It's a ridiculously effective machine that does what it does without peer (personally I plan on going to the ST1300 however). Have fun logging 800+ miles a day without any trouble!

I think I'll be getting a goldwing one day, too. I have bashed them all my life, then I sat on one. It's not your typical mega-miler, it is THE mega miler. What better way to see the country than on the back of a big bike like that with low wind buffeting, still sporty enough for most people and having more conveniences built in than almost anything. Hell how cool is it to cruise around on your bike seeing all our parks, etc and carrying enough gear to camp and have a blast.

Sho 'nuf did - unless I have somehow been magically "re-authorized". As was said - the Winger is THE best at what it does hands down. After a 300 mile day on the VFR my wife said upon our return home "We need a comfy seat bike" so of course having learned from 2 prior divorces, WE GOT ONE! In all fairness she did really like the VFR but even with the Sargent seat it left a bit to be desired in the seating comfort dept. Thanks for the votes of confidence - and YES - I am sort of an old fart - 58 this year - who knows when to listen to his 37 year old wife

Hahaha............I have to agree with you on this. A happy wife is a happy life for man. It sure nice to be able to take the wife travel on the bike. I took my wife to SLO two years ago and got sniff on the side by a brand new Cadillac drove by an old couple...........I keep on going. She never said a word during the ride in heavy traffic of LA, but I know she is Scare the Sh$$$$$$$$$t
