Gave it to him about 9 years ago. It's his all time favorite bike. It needs a little maintenance, so I went and picked it up. Flush/bleed all brake fluids, oil/filter change, might need to go through the carbs... says it's not idling correctly. He rides it every summer, but we haven't done a lot of rides together. He lives a little bit away and doesn't go on as long as rides as I do, he just bops around the island every now and then.

Just has been a while since I've seen it outside, and... goddamn I love this bike.
So... just felt compelled to post up a quick pic I shot when I got home.

Nice of you to look after the old man like that! My father brings me his car every six months or so to get the little stuff sorted out and to catch up. I really look forward to his visits. He is in his 80s now but still in great shape, in my mind anyway. Back in 1980 we rode a goldwing to Myrtle beach together. It was a great time even if my arse hurt for a week after.

You should make a point of getting out for a short weekend tour with him while you can. My pops is too old now and I live 5 hrs away so we don't spend near enough time together anymore. I need to fix that!

Good on you for looking after the old man. Mine is long gone now and I lived 1500 miles away. I had brothers who "could" have done more for him. Sweet ride though.

Didn't even have to look at your profile to know what bike you had. :)

And Jethro, you're right. Gonna load one of my bikes up when I return it to him and go for a nice ride. Maybe we'll head up Chuckanut Drive for some oysters.

    Thanks for the comments everybody!

    Very Nice '86, Sir.

Hope my '87 will look as fine one day. Kudos for you for looking after the old man.
Wish mine was still around. He wasn't into bikes, but taught me a lot.

Ride together as much as possible while he's still around.

(Still hear him at times), when I need help in doing something or questions.

    :) Golden Moments.... Aloha.
