    Hi All,

I have just completed replacing the brake shoes on my 2002 VFR800 and noticed that the O-ring on one of the brake pad pins is missing. I must have broke it off while pulling the pin out of the caliper.

My question is, how important is this o-ring and can I use any same sized ring to replace it? I have a long ride coming up and I dont want to ride the bike if its not safe.

I have attached a picture of one of the other pins with the o-ring still attached.

    Thank you,

The o ring is just to keep the pin tight fit and seal from brake dust. If you can find a similar o ring to replace that would be just fine as long as the pin fit and properly torque. Bon voyage
