Thought I'd try this again. As some of you may know, I came across a "barn find" of a mystery
Honda VF 750 R here in China. Could this be a 1990 RC30?

    The Engine # is RC07E-1018213 and the chassis # is RC15 - 1006529
Since it's a Japanese VIN with less than 17 digits, I can't used the online vin decoders.

I'm looking at the front end and I note the two round headlights (instead of the square single headlight in the early ~84 model).

I've also been googling and came across a shipping manifest with the following:

    Shipment : Voyage-15
    Notify : FENIX(CEZA)
    Bill of Lading : MOTORCYCLES
    Vehicle Desc :
    Year Model : 1990
    Manufacturer : HONDA
    Series : 750CC
    Plate No. : IC-3894
    Chassis No. : RC15-1008051
    Engine No. : RC07E-1019712
    Entry No. : C225-2006
    CP No. : 09657812

The chassis and engine numbers are very close to mine so I'm suspecting that this is a 1990 bike.

    Appreciate your POV...

Sorry, no RC30 for you. That's clearly a gen 1 750 with some sort of full fairing. Judging by the round cutout on the lower side, I'm guessing inline 4, probably early FZR. In your video you can clearly see the gap around the instrument cluster. Mama Honda wound NEVER do that. The 750R sticker is just for show. One need only Google RC30 images to see the difference in frame, front end, swingarm and 100 other things. You can now refer to your bike as a VF750F in future posts.

For front fairing comparison, looks awfully close.

All Honda VFR750R bikes (specifically the RC30) will have a VIN that begins with JH2RC30...

...you have a 1st Generation VF.

How many miles? If low, some of the parts would be pretty sought after.

Neat find LOL! Make sme wonder what else is hiding in China.

Yep gen 1 with fzr or aftermarket front fairing. Way to ugly for an rc30. And I thought I was going to see a picture of an rc30. Bummer

The RC15 in the VIN definitely identifies it as a Gen 1 VF750, as does the steel frame. To my best recollection, an RC07 is a V45 Sabre (VF750S) designator.

I am sure they do have a knock off RC30 in China. What else they don't have? :chaingun::rolleyes:

That's definitively a FZR fairing. Same one on my 95.
