    Hi all,

Looking for a decent online place to order parts (filters, etc..). I found dennis kirk, but shipping is nuts. I'm in Canada btw, so a cool canuck place would be awesome.

    Thanks!

without starting a "which filter is better than which" argument, I usually order bulk WIX oil filters from Rockauto.com - they price in canadian dollars as well. there's a small but useful motorcycle tab on their website.

good place for me on filters and plugs but for other things look elsewhere.

I have ordered parts from Honda Parts Nation a couple of times for both my 97 VFR750 and my currrent 2000 VFR800 and have found their prices to be quite reasonable and the parts are usually at my door in less than 4 days, and I am also a fellow Canadian. The prices on the site are in US dollars but the difference between the two is almost nothing now. Don't think I would order oil/fuel filters from them necessarily but I have ordered some fairing parts from them in the past and they were great to deal with and very helpful. only way to find out
    http://www.hondapartsnation.com/pag...TERNATOR/VFR750F-97-JPN-AC/2Y14MT4LMT44E0700D

    31120-MZ7-004 STATOR $331.60
I suspect 40% is just a marketing gimmick

    31120-MZ7-004 STATOR $277.03
    $277.03

Significantly cheaper.Same part powersportsplus.com wins hands down

I dont know much about many parts providers...But my recent experiences are as follows..

Ron Ayers - ( I know a lot of people know and love him - so no offense ) - Found a part, read the details, said it was available, checked the shipping quote, ordered. 2-3 days later I get a new invoice with doubled shipping and when I asked them about it they told me I should have looked at the FAQ's - which I personally found to be ridiculous. A day later I hear from them again - part is now on back order which the site doesnt say. I cancelled it immediately.

Powersportsplus.com - Ordered a part, said it was available, read the details, etc, etc..A week later get an email saying "there are updates on your order". No updates listed on my account so I do the online chat with them. Guy says part is on back order and wont be available for another 4-5 days.

Im not saying these guys are bad to buy from - they have good deals. But the 3 day later shipping price change, and their websites not being updated to show that a part is not available is not something I like. Maybe im just a snob about online ordering, but I do it a lot and most places keep up on their communication and website - Especially when something wont be available for almost 2 weeks later!

That happens but its not common.I ordered part for bicycle it took 3months to get since like you said website didn't say not in stock. On the other side 95% of my orders were available and shipped fast.
I bought parts from Ron Ayers and Powersportsplus and had no issues. Now reality is even dealers delay ordering parts or get "out of stock" but they charge arm and a leg.Dealers don't keep inventory (other then common items like oil filters) so they order online as well.
Amount of money saved ordering online is paramount despite of some occasional setbacks.

This is what I do sometimes.Get the part number and google shopping and compare prices.Usually I have not seen Powersportsplus beat.
    good luck

I've ordered three times from Powersports Plus (small stuff). Their prices are the best I've found for the things I needed and those came within 5-6 days (UPS and USPS). They kept me updated via email the whole time, so there were no surprises. They'll be my go to guys for now.

Thier prices seem OK, I'll see what they charge to ship to the great white north.. not a ton of dealers in Montreal area. I just need an air filter right now, maybe an oil filter.

Well the one Honda dealer on the island of Montreal wants $75 for an air filter lol, that dealer in Indiana wants $40.. I guess they will get my business. I'll order that tomorrow, and a PIAA Super Plasma H4 as well.

    Thanks for the link Jamie!
