Happy, I won a Cortech soft tail bag on ebay for $66.00. It's great for a day trip, put the Frogg Toggs etc. in it. It's a 16L size and has a lot of internal pockets as well as the 2 outside. Fits great on the '09, stays put at 100mph. Try to post some pics here:

Careful with the tie downs. I rubbed a hickey in both sides with my cortech

I use straps to secure my Cortech under the seat.

It's called "sport tail bag". I may slit some rubber vacuum hose and put over the tie down cords where it goes over the rear fairing so as not to rub, maybe. It also has a rain cover and attaching straps for matching side bags.

I really like the bag but the rain cover is basically useless. Wind gets under it and it would blow off no matter how tight I tightened it. I finally left it in the middle of the interstate while passing through St Louis.

I have the same trunk bag as well as the Cortech saddle bags. Just love them. When they are used together, there is not the issue that Marrib speaks of. But I see yoiu have removed your rear fender. That, in part, is where I attached mine.

Ends up looking something like this:

And yeah, throw those rain covers away. They keep the fog out but that is about it. What I do is pack things in white trash bags which are just about the right size to fit inside these Cortech bags.

FrankoQ, those bags look great! I may pop for the sides once my trips get longer. How are your side bags anchored?? Thanks, Robert

    Some thoughts:

I just bought a used white 2006 VFR with Remus pipes. I had an '86 I bought new, but it was stolen. Decided to recreate the love I had for that bike.

I have a Cortech Sport Bag as pictured. But, I hesitate to use it. I have a fender eliminator, so bugee rash is assured. Not good.

I'm having the Sergeant seat re-stuffed. I guess after 28k miles, the previous owner had compressed the seat foam into rock.

When I get it back tomorrow, I plan to go to the nearby Honda store & see how the new gen. (v 2.0) Sport Bag fits.

For one thing, it has straps instead of the bungees. I never liked the bungees; I had to supplement them with straps I bought. Messy.

The 2.0 bag also has a stiff bottom, and two stiff flaps that fold down when you expand the sides of the bag. That eliminates the floppiness of my bungee-using bag.

Only drawback to the new version is, it has a single-pull zipper on the top, main opening. What were they thinking... save 35c per bag for a $100 bag? Feh!

I need those double-zippers! If I buy the 2.0 bag, I plan to see if my local seamstress will convert the zipper. Maybe pull the double one out of the old bag and put it into the 2.0.

The 2.0 seems larger, too, at 24L. I think my older bag is only 18.
