What should I expect to pay for a decent condition stock VFR700. The fairings have some cracks , but all the pieces are there. Bikes been sitting for a few months but has a new battery and new tires(probably from before it was sitting). Its RWB.

I currently have a 1994( penske shock, racetech front, remus exhaust etc, weekend bike) and 1996(stock, daily driver). So my intention is to restore( not to collector quality thought) it. That brigs me to my second question, how much more desirable is the 86 vfr750. I am assuming the 700 doesn't give up too much power to the 750.

For an "average" condition, medium mileage bike that doesn't require any major work I would say somewhere in the $1400 to $1800 range. If it has super low mileage you might be looking at $2000 or slightly higher. The 750cc model isn't much different from the 700cc performance wise and about the only people who seem to care about the difference are true collectors.

Seller is asking $1200. not sure if its an "asking" price or "the price" .
The bike is 112 miles away from me. So before I drive out there to see it I kinda want to make sure there's a solid margin in the price in case it needs more work than the seller told me.

Usually when I go see the VFR's ( I have checked out about 8 VFR's in the past year, some for me and some for my buddies whom I converted to VFR nuts from super sport group ) the seller's are straight forward. But he last two experiences have been bad. So I am reluctant to risk gas money( about $70 on my stupid truck).

Problem is the seller describes its better than average shape. But you never know what's average to that person.

The more I think about it I want to go check it out.

Looks Great! but how does it run? for $1200 its a nice buy. And if its a buy and ride away today kind of a deal, its a steal of a deal.

    whoops! nevermind.
