This question does not pertain to VFR's in particular, but I just got a new yoshi TRS exhaust for my other bike. I was expecting it to be loud, but it is actually pretty quiet. Do these need to be broken in in any way? If a little use doesn't make it louder, I was going to remove some of the packing in the muffler. The bike is jetted for a louder, less restrictive pipe. I am aware that this probably makes it not technically "eligible" for street use. Putting that to the side, Is this a bad idea. I am also wondering because I have new aftermarket pipes for the vf750f coming in any day now. I will post some pics and instructions as to what I did when they get here.

Noise just for noise sake is a pain for everyone concerned. My Yoshi is pretty quiet until I twist its tail. VFR's make a great sound, but not everyone appreciates that as much as we do. :)

Yeah I know. I'm not looking to be really loud, just this muffler is bearly louder than stock! I ran the bike with no muffler for like 30 sec just to see how loud it could be, and I would never want to be that loud. Just looking for a little more noise than I am getting, but definately what I am looking for would be under the noise limit. After all, I live in NH.

Just out of curiosity, what can did you buy for your VF750F? I've been looking for months to try to find something that will be at least close to stock (for volume of exhaust flow) and I'm not really finding what I'm looking for... I don't care too much about looks, but I really don't want to rejet my carbs if I don't have too...

You could probably find some Supertrapp universal slipons that would fit the bill. You could also probably use one of those yoshi slip ends too.
