Initially I had been looking at an 06, cherry, white VFR that I absolutely love without even test riding it. I have recently found a 2000 cbr1100xx blackbird for a good price as well and am now tore between the two. I have not test rode either of them or been to put my eyeballs on them either. Anyone experience with the cbr1100xx? I have been told service fees for the VFR are pretty high because of the V4.

I only sold by xx because I didn't know the Army would ship it to my next duty station. I like the VFR, but miss the xx. Think about going faster and you do. Smooth as silk. Phenomenal bike. Looking for one in England to supplement my VFR.

Maintenance costs aren't particularly different on the V4 with the exception of the valve check/adjustment. On my old Shadow (V-Twin) I think the valve adjustment ran me about $250 or so. On the V4, god only knows. I think when I last checked it was around $800. Perhaps someone can chime in with a more confident estimate. Upshot is, it costs a lot. They have to essentially do two valve checks because of the VTEC, or something like that.

I haven't done mine yet at 6400 miles. Full time graduate student budget being what it is...

Going to look at the 06 VFR on Sunday. Not sure when I plan to look at the Blackbird but who knows, if I test ride the VFR and like it I may skip looking at the blackbird. I had a 1993 VFR and really liked it, a ton different from the 06 I know, but I do love the pearl white.
