Hey guys just had some questions on how you guys downshift your VFRs. When I am coming to a stop at the light I clutch , downshift, clutch, downshift so on and so forth. I let the revs fall some and ease back out on the clutch to provide some additional braking force. Is this a no no on bikes? I have always owned manual transmission autos and done this more 100000s miles and never have had any clutch problems etc. But it seems bikes are a bit different? I have read some people say to blip and rev match before you release clutch? Any help would be great!
The blip to match revs/roadspeed isn't necessary but it sounds awesome with aftermarket cans... These "V" configuration engines provide substantial engine braking and as long as you're not being unduly rough on the machine, you'll be fine...
Well I usually drive it between 3 and 5K in traffic, maybe take it up to 7K getting on highway. So 95% of them are under 4K or less and I slowly release clutch nothing jerky.
