    Hello Everyone,
I just picked up a 2010 VFR last week and have about 550 miles in the seat. I am sure everyone is aware, but the discounts on this bike are ridiculous right now. Anyway, my main question has to do with rider heat.

Its been 90 deg F here lately and I have to say I am extremely disappointed with heat burning up my right foot on this bike. Even at speed, this bike is setting my right foot on fire. None of the reviews of the bike mention this problem and I am wondering what others experiences are? I read that older vfrs have "heat issues" but I haven't been on other vfr models. For reference my last bike was an Aprilia Futura, which was excellent in all respects but getting old so I moved on to the honda.

My other issue is with the seat, which is also worse than I had hoped but hopefully will be easily fixed with aftermarket.

Just so you don't think I am only here to complain the power is awesome and the handling is very good. The bike leans very well and seems very confident and competent. Its also my first shaft drive which so far seems pretty good.

Anyway, I'd like to know what others think of the heat at their feet? I don't see an easy fix for this and while it might be nice in the spring/fall, it sucks right now in the summer.
    Thanks

When I first starting riding mine I had the very same problem it felt like my right foot was the main course of the day, but I realized that I was touching the exhaust pipe with the heal of my boot. I learned real fast not to angle my right toe out. When I put the 2 Brothers on, the pipe is a little lower and no longer a heal rest but angling my toes in instead of out did the trick with the stock pipes.

Thanks for the quick reply, I will take a more careful look at my foot position on my next ride. I feel like the heat is pouring off the exposed motor case on my toes, I can tell you for sure that if you aren't careful where you put your leg at a stop light, you can do some serious burning to your inner calf there which is probably less of an issue for those with shorter legs.

Also if you have time for another newb question, my bike didn't come with the fuse cover under the seat. The dealer claims that US bikes don't have that, which sounds like BS to me. I read other posts that we don't get the tool kit, but do we really not get the fuse cover?

No..no hot foot on mine. Though I tend to ride with my toes on the pegs.

The stock seat is just fine for me...the Corbin I got sucks, though the wife likes it...

Thanks for the additional replies, reading more posts it seems like people like this bike better after its broken in. I have my 600 mile service scheduled for friday afternoon so I should have a good weekend ahead of me to run it some more.

Reviews on the Corbin seats really vary a lot with some people loving and some hating. I can't take the stock seat much longer and it seems like all the other options besides Corbin require sending in the stock seat to be redone. I don't really want to park my new toy for weeks waiting for a Sargent or Day Long, are there no other options seat wise?

I'm in TX an my right foot burns all the damn time from hot air off the radiator. Ive felt the exhaust too n depending on the wind it'll be left or right leg but yeh,i feel your pain. and the stock seat is awful. after being on it for two hours, it was the first time my ischium ever actually hurt. I'm also pretty disappointed in 6th gear but thats another story.

I agree, I notice the heat from the radiator too when stopped and the cooling fan starts blowing hot air on my leg. It sucks, lucky for me I live in MN and there have been a few days in the 70s (which is more "normal" for us) and it is much more pleasant in cooler weather. I can see why sales of this bike have been poor it has some real short comings. I've got 1200 miles in the saddle now and really have buyers remorse, what seemed like a good deal with rebates now seems like I paid too much. I ordered a Cobin seat which adds another $500 to the price.

6th gear at 80mph is spinning 5k which gets you pretty crappy gas mileage and reduces the range to 150 miles or less. I assume this is your complaint, if so I agree a better "touring" final gear would have been better for me as well.

Seat...... Page 1 this guy works miracles with ST1300 seats..... He's alot cheaper and more knowledgeable about what it takes to make the stock pans comfortable and his work is excellent.

I got nothing for heat problems though.....
