I have spark at the plugs, carbs have been apart, clean inside, jets cleaned, fuel screens clean above needles and seats, fuel at the carb inlet, this is running without the pump and has the petcock mod, good crank speed, I am puzzled- any thoughts? Thx in advance

How were the jets cleaned, especially the choke and pilot jet? How were they verified to be clean?

Were the mixture screws also removed and cleaned?

What was the initial indication or reason to remove the carbs and "clean" them?

Try a few drops of fuel into each carb's air intake and see if it tries to start--that would help determine if it is a fuel or spark issue.

Thanks- I removed the tank and airbox- set up the tank on a stand with a long fuel line- quick shot of Brakekleen and it fired immediately and kept running-now temp gauge seems inop, but I am being cautious with test runs- has a coolant leak at the thermostat o-ring- this thing has been a real b---- to get right, I am sure from previous poor service- much more to go- thx again for your ONLY reply

What kind of gunk did you see on the filter screens and in the float bowls ??

It all came from the fuel tank, so a proppa cleaning and flushing may be in order.

After carbs have been emptied, dried and cleaned, letting fresh fuel sit for an hour or two inside will allow gas to refill small passages and holes.

If the idle adjustment screw is set too far open after your work, starting could be difficult.

There was no gunk- all four screens were spotless- that was one of the reasons I was puzzled- the tank is very nice inside, and I had drained it previously- I find very little choke lever will raise the idle fast- and I had repaired a messed up idle screw and knob, so it was too far open and I have brought the idle speed down to factory setting- at least now I have a place to start- thanks Sman
