yeah, that's nice and low miles, but that price is prob not gonna happen. Never know, though. For a true 5g lover, that's about as close to brand new as you could get one now...

I bought my 2000 in 2008. So granted, it was only 8 years old versus 12. I paid dealer price of $4800, and she had 5400 miles on her. But she had new tires and a battery! I had no idea what a VFR was when I bought it. I soon learned the Dunlop Sportcraps on the bike were worthless, and my R/R fried my battery a couple years later. So much for new parts, huh?

But in defense of the dealer - when my ECM/ECU (whatever the main controlling unit is) failed 3 months after my purchase, he replaced the entire thing (an $800 job) for free. I thought that was pretty nice of them.

I have to disagree with some of you. I don't think this price is unfair.

Remember, the '98/'99 bikes are the "creme de la creme" of the VFR family,

    especially 49-state bikes!

This bike that hasn't been molested, with low miles is worth the asking price.

'98 and '99 VFR prices are eventually going to slide upwards as collectible . . . if stock.

If I had more space this bike and my '98 would make nice book ends in my garage.
