Thought the terminology for a woman was different than having a "spare tyre." Maybe its a pouch???

I knew an avid rider who insisted part of his divorce was his wife's inability to ride well as a passenger. He made that skill a discriminator in his dating practices afterward.

I use both brakes at once and adjust which gets priority depending on the conditions. Even though my current and previous bikes had linked brakes, it is a habit with me. Front gets the majority of my attention.

My wife likes to hug me when riding. Its a little hard on my hands since I'm supporting more weight, but it solves the issue of when she leans. I don't experience any problems.

Have you tried it with a different passenger?? Or if you ride with others, ask someone to hold back a bit and see if they can spot whatever is throwing your balance off. Maybe she's stretching her legs, shifting her weight, or looking around a bit.

    Good luck with it.

First thing I tell my passenger is
    1. "See that muffler? Do not touch it. It can peel your skin off in a split second."
    2. Wait until I tell you to get on.
    3. At speeds above 30/45mph I don't mind you looking around but do sit still. When we are coming to a stop or slowing down or are in slow moving traffic do not move and no looking around until I have the bike stopped and both feet on the ground. Explain to them why you don't want them to move around. They usually get it when you explain it to them.
