So, a little while back, I installed Delkevic headers on my 07 RWB VTEC. Removed the center stand to do so. Messed up and put the exhaust on and didn't realize I needed to install the center stand prior to torquing the header bolts due to center stand bolt clearance issues. Anyway, didn't have spare gaskets so I left it off. Missed it so much that I ordered new gaskets and re-installed the center stand.

anyway, while I had the fairings off, I was mucking with my rectifier - I carry a spare with me that interchanges between all of my bikes. So I wanted the VTEC rectifier harness to be accessable and compatible to swap out without tools if needed. In the process, I damaged one of the evap lines. I had no intentions to ever do so on this bike but rather than order new vacuum hose... So knowing what I know from de-pairing several carbureted Kawasakis and a few Yamahas and my 93 VFR, I removed all of the evap tubing and the PAIR hoses.

Capped off 5 of the nipples on the throttle bodies (same ones you use to balance the t-bodies), almost pulled the MAP sensor off but luckily I didn't. Pulled of 2 other solenoids, evap can, plugged the reed valves (I think that's what it's called). Out of curiosity, I weighed it. 3.9 lbs. about what the center stand weighs.

So, long winded story, short. I starts and I've ridden 50 miles so far no issues. sounds much more mellow and less harsh garage echo sound as I pull into my work parking garage. Start up idle fell to 800 and warmed up, 1500 after turning up the idle a little to support the cold start. From my search, this is normal after the PAIR removal.

my question, if you all are still concious after that story, is, is there any known long term effects from capping off the nipples for the flapper vac and PAIR vac lines? that's the only thing search won't turn up. Runs fine and sounds less harsh so I like it. Any info is appreciated.

When I did my PAIR removal, I also did the O2 Sensor elimination. I wasn't sure which mod made my idle decrease, but it dropped from 1200 to around 900. I don't think I removed my evap canister though, I did remove the flapper and snorkel from my air box. Not sure if I really like it though its a bit louder towards the front while im riding it now. I liked it before when most of the noise was coming out of the exhaust.

I heard that the pair removal will make your idle drop. I just removed my O2 sensors and idle is exactly the same as before, but a lot smoother. Yay to removing the O2 sensors.

What resistors did you use for the O2 elimination.

I left my sensors since my Delkevic headers came with bungs welded in already. I watched the youtube vid on the home made eliminators and read through the theads, heard about the 1/4 watts catching fire. Figured I'll just spend the $20 so ordered 2 O2 elims but never ended up using them. I didn't adjust my fast idle wax unit, which in retrospect, should fix my start up low idle. I'll probably get to that next time I have the tank near empty.
