Hello, been gone a while, deployed... quick question concerning exhausts. I have an 86 with stock exhaust. A fella from work told me I should put on Delkevic's. They don't make them for this bike. Anyone use these before? Any ideas on how easy/hard it would be. Thanks in advance.

I have had some experience with this. I have a 1985, which is the previous generation, but what i did was used the EX500 ninja pipes, purchased off ebay. (model SS70) They arrived, and I had to use adapters (found at local auto parts store), 2 on each side to go from the larger diameter outlets to the midpipes that came with the mufflers. Basically, If I had been able to use only 1 adapter on each side, It would have worked. It was literally 2" from working perfectly. I have no fabrication/metal welding skills, and I had a perfectly good set of Cobra F1r's, so I just decided to return the delkevic's. I had already spent about $250 on them in the first place, and I wasn't really cool with putting any more money into it. I suppose If you wanted to spend slightly more, it could be done easily by someone who knows what they are doing. And by the way, I was able to mock it up just to see what it would look like, no pictures, but it looked fresh. Now I know you have the next generation, so they might fit, I don't know. I suggest gettting a set from ebay and trying it out. The worst that happens is you send them back and are out $15 for shipping. At least for the 1st gen, I had to use the SS70 mufflers, they are the shortest ones. Any longer and it would have looked dumb. So I recommend those.

If you have the stockers on and they are toast from road rash/rust if the pipes that connect to the headers are still decent you can cut the old cans off and get supertrapp slip ons to work.
You can still buy the supertrapp slip ons, don't know about anything else for sale.

In regards to the supertrapp's, just the basic slip-ons, or is there a certain one that I should be looking for? Thanks

They haven't made supertraps for these in a long time. You'll need to get universals and make them fit.
