i love my new bike but can't frikkin stand this huge bulky fender jutting off the tail seemingly to showcase and brag about the existence of a very flacid looking govt issued license plate. i really wanna just cut the whole damned thing off but i'd rather take the thing apart n replace it w a lower profile part if anyone makes one. has anyone tried this? sorry, this feels like something that should have come up by now, but my search came up dry.

    thanks!

do a search; I fixed mine with a aluminum strip bracket from home depot. Had to drill 2 small 1/4" holes in the fender, but they are hidden.

a couple beers for some liquid courage. a cutting wheel, sandpaper and a little love. 50 cent fix. and you get an extra 12v hot when bike on lead for another accessory of your choice when the licence plate bulbs go bye bye. win win win win win situation.

+1 to tin-tin. The aftermarket ones for sale usually are a lot more than what you get. I ride a 5th gen, but that big honking fender was gone with the use of a jigsaw in the first week. I bought a little piece of aluminum from ebay, painted it black srewed the license plate to it and have been riding it that way for 8 6 years or so without one person saying 'man you should have popped for that $70 fender elim kit from XXXX'.
