I was going to do a carb cam swap on my gen 4 with the gen 3 36mm carbs and cams. i got the carbs but the cams turned out to be gen 4's not 3's. so know im looking maybe just doing the carbs and seeing how than works out. what do you guys think about only going with the carbs till i can find the cams? btw.. i now have a spare set of gen 4 cams for sale :)

just PM'd you about the cams but I think, as far as I can figure out, the ECM/ignition module for gen 3 and gen 4 are different. Atleast Ronayers has different part numbers for them. I'm using a gen 4 computer when I swapped my motor out on my 93 for a gen 4 motor.

more power!!! and faster delivery of power curve. gen 4 was detuned from gen 3 design due to epa and other california restrictions. in the owners manual there is a huge difference in the carbs and cams from gen 3 to 4. the carbs are 2mm larger and the cams have more lift, different timing and stay open longer, I assume the timing curve in the ecm is different also and compliments the cams... I already removed all the emissions stuff including the dang air tubes at the exhaust pipes. just that made a great improvement in 1/4 throttle response and smoother power delivery rolling on from closed throttle threw the turns. note: this is not the easiest swap out to do and is my first time modding my bike. ill let you know how it works out. in theory im expecting 10% gains and much faster peak power delivery....
