Looks pretty easy, but you know what happens when you think that. I don't need a front or rear sprocket, but would like to clean up, maybe polish the rear sprocket. I'm thinking I can just unbolt it and slide it out of the chain and then reinstall it. As long as it's lined up with a fixed mark on the hub I should be straight right??

Polishing any kind of metal is a big job. I polished just the rim lips on my wheels (see my gallery for pics) and it took a few days to do. I just installed my new sprocket, and it's really rough. You'd have to do alot of sanding to make it smooth, before attempting to polish it. As far as my old sprocket, it was to gunked up to even think about. I suppose you could try to unbolt it, and slide it off, the problem would be geting it back on. If it were me, I'd order a new chain and sprocket kit, and start polishing it now, so that by the time the 9old one is worn, I just might be done with the polishing process.
