    Hola all.

VFRworld n00b here, making his posting debut. Not new to VFRs (had a '98 that easily qualified as my highest-mileage and favourite bike of all time) and am considering a VFR1200 to replace a Tiger 1050 and a Hayabusa. Garage space recently shrunk, and I need that proverbial one-bike solution...

    welcome to the forum.

I like the Tiger 1050. never owned one but really enjoyed a test ride I did in 2010.

I've had something of a love-hate relationship with the Tiger after almost five years with the bike.

The 1050 Triple is truly one of motorcycling's best engines. It's torque profile is phenomenal for its displacement, and there's nothing quite like the sound of grabbing some throttle on the world's most pissed-off wood chipper. :)

The ergos are very nice, save for seat-to-peg which has always perplexed me in being a little tight for the otherwise upright riding position.

I've always been sort of neutral on its looks, but it always draws positive attention wherever it goes.

My issues with the bike have always come down to wind management. I like most spent years and hundreds of dollars on various different screens and even changing helmets with little relief from buffeting and noise until trying the MadStad system popularised on the V-Strom, but even that hasn't been a panacea for me like it has for others. It's certainly better, but it's not perfect.

Riding home from work a couple days ago in big head-on gusts of wind that were maddening on the Tiger but would have been a non-issue on the Busa or anything else I've owned have convinced me to simply cut my losses and move on. When you put that together with the fact that I truly only have space for a single motorcycle these days, the choice becomes even easier.

Interesting take. Best feedback I've heard on that Tiger although in fairness I haven't gone seeking information on it either. It would still probably be ok for the type of riding that I would want it for.

Hopefully you've seen this thread on the 1200 pinned at the top of the 7gen forum. Most folks believe it's about the most fair assessment of the 1200 written....

I think you came to the right place! The welcome matt is always out....

You can find some nice used examples of the latest generation VFR starting to show up on E-Bay and various other places. Feelings seem to be mixed on it but it seems that you either love it to death or don't. I suppose that most motorcycles are like that though. I find that the looks are starting to grow on me while my initial feelings weren't very positive. The 6th gereation machine was the same but now I love to look at it.
