I just got a new shinko F011 front tire put on my 2002 vfr abs (size 120/60) and I have noticed some excessive vibration in the foot pegs.
The tire is set at the recommended pressure and I haven't been riding hard as I'm breaking the tire in.
I have a matching rear tire that has about 1,000 - 1,500 miles on it. I cannot see a new tire giving this problem.
I'm pretty sure my forks are still ok. Any thoughts of what may cause this? Maybe I'm over-analyzing things.
My bike has 30K miles and the service is up to date.

Do you feel the vibration in the bars? Maybe the shop didn't do a very good job of balancing the tire when they mounted it?

After I got my new front mounted and rode with it, I re-read the owner's manual and there's something about centering the wheel such that there's equal gaps at the brake pads. Maybe an expert here could say whether being too tight up against a pad could cause your vibes?

Go back to the shop. Tell them to check the balance. If balance is good, tire is shit. Tell them to put a new tire on and re-balance.

I have good news in that vibration has virtually gone away. I think Rich T made a good point and I also think it has to do with my chain. I just ordered a new one (with sprockets) and think that will help with the vibration issue.
