I was just rambling along on another thread when it occured to me that an interesting thread may a discussion on bikes that you haven't ridden or owned but would like to have a go at.

I have a long bucket list of bikes! But before I go on, I just want to say that the VFR will always have a place in my garage regardless of what ever else may come along.

So just to kick it off, here is one I would like to take out for an afternoon,

Buell 1125 CR: technical specs and pictures

Triumph Rocket III Roadster (test ridden but bought the ST because SWMBO prefered the ST's pillion seat???!!!??? )
VFR (notice number 2 on list.....)
    CBR1100XX Fuel injected not fussy.
Kawasaki ZX10 (Dammit Jim it just looks like alot of fun!)
Triumph Thunderbird (Only cruiser on the list. Saturday Night "go barhopping" kinda bike. But that new red paint is beautimus!!!!!)
    Another C-10 Concours.

Budget says a 4th gen VFR or C-10 will be next but I'm keeping my eyes and options open...

And the bike fund grows every paycheck!

Every time I see a "covet thy neighbor" it reminds me of something.

Taking a certain route to go through the Lincoln Tunnel (from NJ to NY), you would drive by this seedy little hotel. On their advertisement sign outside the hotel they had a saying: "Covet thy neighbor's wife...HERE!"

Yes, completely unrelated to the thread, but I'm sure it'll get back on track. As you were...

Well...you are right! The ZX-10r iS huge fun. And not just what you think (everyone seems to assume that you can only ride it like a lunatic). Because it has so much power, it is big fun in the ranges where most bikes are gutless. The throttle is very smooth at low RPMs; it is extremely controllable. The 06-07 (second gen) is the best of the lot in terms of usuable, civilized power. It has more horsepower in the middle than the later gens that are more powerful in the higher RPM range. Sooo much fun.
(But the insurance man will hit you hard!)

(Want the scalded rabbit syndrome? Get the first gen.)
(Want more top end but a bit more refined? Get the third gen.)
(Want one of the world's best traction control and ABS systems? Get the current--4th--gen.)
