    Guys,

I'm looking at picking up an early 6th generation VFR, and according to my insurance company, there are 3 different models:

    1. VFR800
    2. VFR800 ABS
    3. VFR800FIA

Could someone please explain the differences to me? I'm guessing that the VFR800 is the base model and that the "ABS" model just adds anti-lock brakes. What does the FIA model include? And how can you distinguish each model when looking at the bike?

    Thanks,
    Andy

All those bikes are FI... but I'm pretty sure the A model is the California - anti-smog model... My insurance company listed out my 99 with a 800fi and an 800fia model as well. I might be wrong.

It is easy to tell if it has ABS by looking for the ABS slotted ring inside of the right front disc.
