Am I asking too much?

I'm trying to sell my 86 750f, it's fairly rough, but it runs and passed Texas state inspection. I posted it up all over the place for 1000-1200 depending on the site, and I just am not getting any bites o. It... It's got a bonded to title, but still, a running inspected bike for $1000 doesn't seem like it should be way out of the ballpark or anything. What do you guys think? Am I asking too much?

 

yeah... it might be a running bike, but if a potential buyer would have to drop 500 bucks in cosmetics... sorry to bust your bubble and what is a bonded title? is that like a salvage title? put up pictures to show how "rough"

Probably worth more as parts unfortunately but that takes a bunch of work to realize.

Price is very good....your market location is the problem !

Your Texicans don't know enuff 'bout motacycles or any history besides the Alamo, so the market is bad there.

Try Houston, Dallas, or Austin CL to find the right buyer, someone who's gone beyond highschool.

Bonded title means the title was lost at some point and I went through the steps to get a title even though I was not the last registered owner. The "bonded" designation falls off in 2 years and the title becomes clear. I've got a guy coming to look at the bike tomorrow, if he doesn't buy it, I'll drop the price some more. I'm calling the bike rough but if someone got all the plastics for it, it could be nice. I started gathering parts but ran out of Money. I have been doing maintenance as I can (chain, oil, plugs, etc )because that was more important than the looks to me.

 

A solid runner is important to YOU, but unfortunately, others will only see the price tag of missing plastics.

If you could find rough plastics and re-finish, it would make a difference. Although, I am sure you wouldn't want to go through that much effort if you are getting rid of it.

Yeah, you will probably have to drop the price just to get out from under it.

I didn't even have any low ball offers on it, I did manage to sell it on Craigslist for $800 so all is well.

 

I hear that.... I liked it but I had to choose to sell it to pay off my 02 gsxr I just bought. It rides so much nicer, and smoother than the vfr, not to mention the fuel injection.
