How many older guys ride VFR?

I'm 60 years young and have a vfr 1200f. It's plenty enough bike for now. All my younger friends has Busa's and superhawks, but they're never out of sight from me. (unless I'm leading)

Probably first said by some old Roman Senator who thought plausible deniability was a load of cac.

I try to do the rubber thing but once in awhile cac happens.

 

I started riding late in life, the very first bike I learned to ride on was a 1982 Honda CB650 Nighthawk in 1989,@ 41 years old.

Today, I'm 64, and still riding my second VFR. My wife also rode with me for quite a few years on a Suzuki GS1100GL, but stopped. I still have that bike too, but perfer to ride the Honda.

I don't know how many of you are from the NY area, but there is a very large rally that takes place the beginning of June every year called "Americade", which we have been going to for years! I've had the opportunity to demo ride every kind/model over the years, but I still like the VFR the best, as a all around great MC

 

Just turned 60 on the 25th bought myself a 08 with 3,000 miles on it
for a birthday present after 27 years on a 85 RWB. Life is Good!

I'm 60 and had a 1985 700 interceptor when I was in my 40's; it got ripped off. In December I bought my 1996 750. Aside from breaking down twice and $550 to rewire and reregulator the entire harness, I'm loving the ride. I guess electrical horror stories come with Gen 4; gotta love Honda; designing in covered heat sinks on hot regulators; LOL.

I'm 63 my wife gives me no grief. Of course I have a 05 BMWK12LT for the two-up riding. The '04' has been great for sport touring. I have not had it on the track yet.

Hi -- I have a '96 VFR750R, for the past three years now, my spouse too gave her notice of late, but I don't blame it on the bike! I'm 45, 42 when I bought 'giselle', I've put 13500 miles on it since new to me 6/09 (sitting at 35,000+ now). I have a friend who has purchased and sold 7 motorcycles since I purchased my VFR, and now he's on a BMW R1200S (he's had 5 BMWs over this period). He's "older" too (60). Love the VFR, love the brakes and power, I don't think I'd feel at all comfortable riding a 700-800lb cruiser, I would be afraid I couldn't stop it or accelerate away from trouble on command like the VFR. If I could lighten the VFR by 100 pounds, I would, but I weigh only 170 so the bike and I mate up well --

Just joined this forum as I picked up my VFR500 yesterday. My other bikes are my 88 750 Ninja and my current favorite is a 97 CBR1100XX Blackbird. The VFR will be my go to the pub hop on bike for around town spirited ride.
Oh yea, I am about to turn 63 soon. Tried the cruiser and touring bikes and got rid of them. Too heavy and bad handling for this old guy.
Wife doesn't ride even as a passenger, which suits me fine. That way I can ride what I want, where I want and when I want................as long chores are done and she says its ok. LOL

Sold my 97 CBR1100XX because I thought the Army wouldn't ship it to Belgium. I was wrong. Bought a VFR800 last night.

Married a 26yo who mentions my age routinely. 44 is young. When I get too old for the sportbikes, skydiving, SCUBA, hang gliding and such, I'll try skydiving without the chute.

Best skydiver I know is 61. Best hang glider pilot I know is 59. Best shooter I know is 64.

I'm a young pup. I'm looking foward to gettting older and better. If your wife is too old for you, you can trade her in for a newer model.
