So after attempting to sell the old girl, I have decided to keep her, for now that is. Since I will be keeping the bike I figured I would make some improvements. I have an 86 500 that is a parts bike and it has been invaluable. here is what i have done this past week

    replaced water pump
    installed 86 coolant reserve tank
    installed 86 coolant return pipe
replaced broken front sprocket/slave cylinder cover
    oil change
    painted chain guard
    new battery
I also painted the grab bar the same color as the chain guard

When I got the bike about 4 years ago it looked and ran nothing like it does now. it was a total mess ! I bought it from a friend who learned on it and didn't care at all about maintenance. I luckily got it from him before any major damage was done. although it has been in pieces more than it has been ridden, I truly love my vf500. I have ridden several different styles of bikes and this is my favorite by far. more pics to come I still want to clean up the motor and wax her up a bit. I was iffy on the gold but am so happy with the look. god bless rattle cans
