Hey guys, I had my 04 VFR trailered 1100 miles with one of those straps that cross the handle bars and wrap around the hand grips. Unfortunately I had someone haul it for me in an enclosed trailer & they never checked it in route. When It arrived the tail had walked all the way to the right and one of the two ties downs on the throttle hand grip had come off effectively holding the throttle wide open.
I thought nothing of it until today when I took it for a ride and the throttle is not returning to idle when released. I tried adjusting the cables at the hand grip, but nothing seemed to help.
Before I tear into it (and prob do more damage) Is there a throttle return spring in the hand grip assembly that mave have snapped? or is there one the throttle bodies?

    Thanks, I'm still learning

The throttle return springs are located on the throttle body assembly.

Make sure your throttle pipe isn't binding up on the bar or internally on the hand set housing or that the throttle cable sheaths didn't get kinked. Might wanna try lubing up your throttle cables too.

Ok, tore into it and found the return spring on the throttle body. It looks fine, I greased up the cables, but nothing is working. It looks like I'll be replacing my complete throttle assembly on the hand grip. Something isn't right with it.
I'll be more careful strapping the bike down next time....

Before you go and buy a whole new hand set assembly ReefDiver disassemble it and check to see if one of the throttle cables simply didn't just walk off the channel on the throttle pipe and is binding up internally in the hand set housing.
It's simple enough to do,just a coupla screws on the underside of the handset housing need to be removed.

Make sure your cables are moving freely in their sheaths too, might have a frayed throttle cable.

I didn't mention it, but I did pull the assembly apart. Everything looked ok, and I oiled it up. I noticed my rubber grip came unglued from the plastic, and its twisting when I roll the throttle. I may find that its cracked when I pull off the grip? I'll do more investigating after work.
    Thank you for your help.
