87 vfr700 headlamp bucket removal??

removed my head lite and need to separate..the rear bucket from the lite ? how do i remove it thanks gregg in ohio

 

you dont. the headlight is an assembly. if the glass is cracked, you pretty much need a new headlight assy. sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Try using a heatgun to soften the glue holding them together and then scrape the glue out and gently pry apart.

 

Why ??

As stated by Chris, cracked glass means you need a replacement, not a repair.

 

OP might be installing projector headlight or cleaning reflector. He didn't say anything was cracked.
