So what part is messed up the filing of such an asinine lawsuit, or the judges ruling?

 

the judge ruled that the girlfriend was not at fault... her boyfriend however was charged.. what is messed up about that? I am not following your logic Cyborg... he should have told her the he was driving or just not responded to the text messages. his fault.

 

Got no problem with the lawsuit, in this case I hope Weinstein gets a judgement so large BEST's grandchildren will be paying it off. As for what's messed up, take your pick:

A) Weinstein wasting time and resources with an apparent "Sue everybody" strategy
B) the Kuberts were maimed
C) the fucking idiot responsible (who kept his license BTW) is sentenced to speak at high schools about texting and driving and pay a fine of $775.

 

I have no problem with the Judge's ruling, What I mean is the lawyer wasting time and effort going after her in the first place, the Kuberts' major injuries and the fact the idiot's punishment was less than what one would get for shoplifting under $200...

 

The Fact that the Guy that hit them really just got a slap on the hand, really SUCKS!
Blame for that resides with the State, & the People that live in that state!

People today are very sue happy, You can thank the lady that sued McDonalds over a hot cup of coffee, & the Judge that ruled in her favor!
Some tymes people sue not because they think they can win, but because they want to bring light / attention to something wrong that has happened to them.
What would be nice to see is the couple that lost there legs, continue to ride, & go to the same schools as the guy that hit them & make sure that the kids in those schools understand the risks of texting while behind the wheel!

 

yeah I agree that the punishment doesn't fit the crime and the victims will never ride a motorcycle again.. make the idiot the hit them pay... that is what civil courts are for.

you were a tad vague on what was messed up... yeah there is a ton of stuff take your pick... the lawyer for the plaintiffs is a douchebag.. he sounds like an ambulance chaser... maybe he is of the lawyeri9ng school that say through a bunch of names at the wall for a law suit and see which ones stick... I am surprised he didn't name the dudes service provider in the law suit for giving him the capapbility to text in the car while driving.. I can see it now :
