I've been searching all over for a stock rear fender for a 6th gen bike and so far nada. It's genuinely strange as most of the bikes for sale on the market have fender eliminators of one kind or another so where have the rear fenders gone? Did they get chopped up in the process of installing the eliminator? Did flying monkeys swoop in and take them home to build nests? Just about any other item for this bike can be found in a few minutes of diligent searching except for the fender and of course a set of headlights which I guess I will buy new.
It seems that even for older bikes, they are almost impossible to find. What are they charging for a new OEM fender?
When I took mine off for the elim. kit I damaged two of the mounting tabs. After it was off I noticed how big of a gap there was between the tail light and the subframe. So I took a hack saw to it, cut it down to a manageable, decent looking option to fill the gap in. So long story short: I cut it up and reused a portion of it.
Yah that is probably the same story everywhere. I need to get this 2007 through a safety inspection and they are going to be looking for all that stuff including the darn reflectors and the light for the plate. I guess I just have to buy new or make something up. Nah I'll just keep shopping and eventually I will find one I guess.
