new to the vfr world

    well do to gas prices i was forced into finding a bike and i fell into a $500 86 vfr750 and i am taking my motorcycle drivers safety classes this weekend and since i am not really a rider i am stoked.

    Congrats and welcome to the site. You have to post a pic or we'll be forced to insult you and ridicule your masculinity. (We're going to do that either way, but just post up a pic).

    Glad to see you're taking the course - good thinking. Obviously money is tight - as it is for many - but get yourself some gear, too. Not just a helmet, but some gloves, pants, jacket and some sort of boot. Even a work book is better than sneakers. You don't need a leather suit for $800, but some textile or mesh pants and jacket is an excellent start.

    There are tons of "close out" deals to be found on safety gear. Here's a link to just one site, that gives good reviews as well.

    man you guys are great there on this site. my wife baught me new oakley wind jackets a bell helmet and riding boots so im almost ready and excited

    my first problems i had to replace the carb cluster and derust the tank but i did it all myself and was pretty cheap

    Get yourself a MC Riding Jacket with body Armour or atleast good thick patches/re-enforcements. When you drop your bike, "Yes when" you will be glad you did!
    I have Road-Rash scars to prove just how Hard-headed I was when young.. :tsk:
